Job Description:
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation
- devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Operate heavy equipment
- Communicate with passengers, dispatchers or other drivers using two-way radio systems
